How to care for your hand-blown glasses
Your hand-blown glassware from Baltic Sea Glass is made to be enjoyed for many years. Although handwashing (in lukewarm water with a mild detergent) is always the most gentle method, our glassware can also be washed in the dishwasher – as long as you choose a delicate programme.
How to wash your glass correctly:
• Place the glasses on the top rack – the water pressure is lower and more gentle.
• Make sure the glasses are stable and not touching each other.
• Choose a delicate programme (Glass, Eco or 40–50°C).
• Avoid high temperatures and quick-wash cycles.
• Use a mild detergent, rinse aid and dishwasher salt.
• Open the door after the cycle to release steam – this helps prevent limescale and cloudiness.
Avoid washing your glassware together with:
• Cutlery made of aluminium, copper or cast iron – it may cause discolouration.
• Pots, pans or baking trays with heavy grease – can leave the glass looking dull.
• Loose plastic parts that may fly around – they can chip or break the glasses.
• Sharp knives – they may scratch or damage the surface.
Extra tip:
If your glasses have become slightly cloudy, try polishing them with clear vinegar or a mixture of water and baking soda.
